Santa Monica Mountains
Whether you have been climbing for years, or you have some climbing experience, you are welcomed to join. This is a great opportunity if you haven’t spent much time climbing outside. During our retreat in the mountains, I will be guiding us through meditation and yoga. Most of the food is included (breakfast and dinners, you are in charge to bring snacks/ lunch for yourself). Below I have included a list of items to bring, if you don’t have everything, that’s ok!
Mark your calendar for Friday night, June 23rd til Sunday afternoon, June 25th. I encourage carpooling. With that said, I can help coordinate if needed. You have the option of jumping in with Matt and I, in our van. Otherwise, if you drive yourself, there is a small fee for extra cars (first come first served) or you can park outside of the park and we will come pick you up.
Matt DeStefano will be teaching us the ropes. While he coaches us to become better climbers, he will also show us the basics of climbing outside, how to climb safely and warming-up properly to prevent injury. Matt is a physical therapist (in training, who graduates this year) that focuses on climbers. He is incredibly knowledgeable when it comes to climbing and the body. Matt has been climbing for 10+ years and resides in Boulder, CO.
Together Matt and I are avid adventurers and absolutely love sharing our passion for the great outdoors, climbing, yoga and plant-based living with others. We look forward to sharing stories, star gazing and getting on some rock with you! Be sure to email me if you have any questions or if you want to reserve your spot, space is limited**
